United States Postal Service - Video Coding System (VCS) Project
Nationwide Structures, Inc./ Porta-King Building Systems was involved in the design, furnishing and installation of the original prototype VCS Room installed at the Baltimore facility. During Phase I of the program, we worked closely with USPS Headquarters in fine-tuning the original specification to best meet USPS needs.
Currently thirty-six VCS rooms for the USPS have been furnished/installed around the country. Read more about this project.
- Porta-King Building System's modular VersaKing series was chosen for the VCS project. This demountable, relocatable system can be moved and/or reconfigured as future needs change thus preserving the initial investment.
- Vinyl clad sheetrock was selected for the walls. The entire structure is fabricated from Class 'A', Non-combustible materials.
- VCS room size and height varied according to the project location requirements.
- Some locations required the addition of guardrail to protect against accidental forklift damage.
